Veterans Cemetery in Orange County

Posted on Oct 20 2017 - 3:41pm

For those who are interested in having a Veterans Cemetery in Orange County, you are strongly encouraged to attend this dedication program on October 27.  We need to show that there is effective support for this project to counter the efforts of a group or residents in the City of Irvine that is circulating petitions to try to stop the Cemetery.

Seeking Veterans

Below is a letter from the City of Rancho Santa Margarita.
Please see attached as well.

We’re seeking veterans to join us as the City of Rancho Santa Margarita invites veterans and their families to a reception at City Hall on Wednesday, November 8, 2017. There will be a small reception with coffee, and cookies beginning at 6:30 p.m. with the recognition immediately following at 7:00 p.m. The veterans will be recognized by our Mayor and City Council members.  It won’ be very long and the veterans can leave before the meeting part begins.

Veterans Day is the day set aside to thank and honor all those who served honorably in the military - in wartime or peacetime. The City of Rancho Santa Margarita would like to thank local veterans for their service, to acknowledge that their contributions to our national security are appreciated, and to underscore the fact that all those who have served in the military  have sacrificed and performed a noble duty.

All veterans are invited to participate in this important recognition. We hope you'll join us to honor the men and women of our community for their service.

We are seeking photos of veterans to be included in our presentation. If you have a photo of a veteran that you would like to add to the City's collection of veterans' photos, please drop off a copy at the Bell Tower Community Center at 22232 El Paseo, or email photos to wredington@cityofrsm.org. Please include contact information on the form attached and return to me.

If you have further questions please feel free to contact me at 949-216-9700 X1260.

Thank you for your support.

Greetings Comrades

Pictures for each membership profile will begin at Monday’s meeting. The current line offices are requested to allow time for a picture.  It would be helpful to provide a brief biography.  Suggested that a now and then comparison be written or perhaps what your dream job during your service
